All activities supported by HelpAge Kenya should ultimately benefit the weak and the marginalized older persons. HelpAge Kenya activities are planned and implemented with the regard to the following four objectives.

Development by people
Popular participation must be a tool in the process of planning and implementation as well as an objective.

Gender Orientation
A proper gender analysis must ensure that both men's and women's needs in the projects are taken into consideration. The activities must ensure equal opportunities for women.

Environments , Development and Health
Preserving and restoring a sustainable environment must be an integrated element in all activities aimed at improving health and the living conditions of the poor older persons.

Sustainability
Technical, economic and institutional sustainability must be considered right from the beginning of any activity.
