Profile

HelpAge Kenya is a national charitable organization and an affiliate member of HelpAge International. HelpAge Kenya (HAK) was founded in 1982 as a non-profit making community based charity NGO. HelpAge Kenya is registered with the NGO Coordination Board as a National NGO; it is also a member organization of the National NGO Council. For the last 20 years since inception, HelpAge Kenya has dedicated its efforts to improving the quality of life and prospects of the disadvantaged older persons in Kenya , so that they live their remaining years in dignity within their own community.

mission

HAK's mission is to champion the rights, special and general needs and the well being of the older persons, through advocacy for their rights and implementation of sustainable development programmes in close collaboration with the older persons

vision

HAK's vision is of a society where the rights of the older persons are appreciated, guaranteed, and protected and also where older persons are availed opportunity to live in dignity through easy access to health care, information, shelter and other basic needs.

goal

To facilitate increased community awareness and the promotion and protection of older persons needs and rights in order to ensure their full participation and respect in Kenya .
